Blackstone SM 65-880 - Single-blade Scythe Mower - 196cc Engine

The Blackstone SM 65-880 single-blade scythe mower is an ideal tool for cutting grass and keeping lawns tidy even under the most difficult conditions.

Equipped with a powerful and reliable Y196V propeller engine, with a displacement of 196 cc and a power output of 4.2 kW at 3300 rpm, this scythe mower offers excellent performance for hobby use. The self-propelled drive system allows easy and effortless operation.

The Blackstone SM 65-880 has a working width of 880 mm, allowing large areas to be covered in less time. The cutting height is adjustable between 20 and 50 mm, allowing the cut to be adapted to different ground requirements. The 13x5.00-6 wheels ensure stability and manoeuvrability even on irregular ground.

Another distinctive feature is the three-position adjustable handlebar, which offers maximum operator comfort during prolonged use.

The 88 cm sickle bar accessory (supplied as standard) is a mulching type with standard single-blade movement. This means that it has a very high cutting efficiency thanks to its special profile, the sharpness of the blades and the standard single-blade movement, where the sickle bar is equipped with two cutting blades, one lower and one upper. The latter is controlled by the drive with an oscillating movement that cuts the grass thanks to the counter-blade of the fixed lower blade that acts as a counter-blade.

The sickle bar is also driven by a belt transmission that gives it a good duration thanks to the friction effect that this type of transmission guarantees.

Suitable for mowing uncultivated grass, even very tall ones, or grass to be recovered and used for livestock feed.

Sickle bar cutting width: 88 cm

Mulching cutting system: the sickle bar consists of a lower and an upper blade, which moves with an oscillatory motion in contact with the lower blade, which is fixed and acts as a counter-blade. This type of sickle bar is known as a mulching bar due to the particular clear-cut that it performs on all types, consistencies and heights of grass, achieved thanks to the special profile of the blades it is made up of.

The sickle bar is equipped with blade presses on top of it.

The cutting height can be adjusted from 20 to 50 mm by moving the two slides to the desired height

Allowing the sickle mower to move forward even in the most difficult terrain while maintaining ideal grip at all times.

End belt drive between the sickle bar and the central transmission of the machine (protected by the grey crankcase in the photo).
This extends the overall service life of this mower. The belt performs a function similar to that of a clutch (slipping in the event of impact by the moving blades, most often preventing the machine's most wear-prone components from being damaged).

However, we recommend avoiding hitting obstacles with the scythe mower and using it on stony surfaces.

Another major benefit of the belt-driven transmission is the blade engagement and disengagement lever (white lever). This trailed petrol sickle mower allows it to be activated only when necessary, e.g. where work is to be performed, and then deactivated whenever necessary. It allows, for instance, to move the machine using the traction of the wheels but with a still blade.

This petrol-driven scythe is single-gear.

It is possible to adjust the height of the handlebar, raising or lowering it, simply by pressing the lever.

The white lever is dedicated to engaging/disengaging the mower deck.

The black lever operates the machine's forward movement.
