Efficiency and reliability are at the heart of the design of the Italyco Maxi 10/270 D compressor. Utilising an optimised suction and compression mechanism with cutting edge rotors, the device guarantees a progressive increase in pressure, ensuring a constant supply of high quality compressed air.

With a 270-litre tank and a suction capacity of 650 litres of air per minute, the compressor is characterised by its 7.5 kW power and a maximum pressure of 10 bar. These features make it perfect for continuous use in industrial environments, where operational consistency is crucial.

The compressor's versatility allows it to be easily adapted to different working contexts, such as machine shops and various industries, ensuring continuous operation and reducing the need for downtime for cooling.

Main features of the screw unit

The rotary-screw air compressors are particularly suitable for those environments that require a greater air flow rate and longer operating times. Unlike piston models, they do not require a rest period, but only an initial phase during which the air compressor must reach a suitable temperature to be able to deliver the maximum pressure and flow rate.

The new screw unit in the range guarantees high efficiency and reliability. These models feature a single-stage compression unit cooled by fluid injection, designed to achieve a greater accessibility during maintenance operations.

The components subject to wear have been reduced to allow maintenance to be carried out in total autonomy and avoid unnecessary interventions that could damage the machine.

The screw group and the electric motor are fixed on an anti-vibration base which eliminates the transmission of vibrations to the air compressor, to greatly reduce noise and mechanical stress on the fixed parts of the machine.

Integrated refrigeration cycle dryer

The cycling refrigeration dryer allows filtering and dry the compressed air produced by the compressor. This process allow the production of better quality compressed air without any residue, but above all it will prevent the formation of condensation inside the tank itself and the occurrence of any steam damage.

The atmospheric air sucked in by a compressor is a mixture of gases, water vapour and solid contaminants, and without the use of a treatment system these pollutants could reach the machines and cause damage. The air also contains a certain amount of moisture, in greater quantities at higher temperatures. This accumulation can create problems and disturbances to the compressor, and as mentioned above also to the connected equipment.

For example: a compressor with an operating pressure of 7 bar and a capacity of 200 l/s compressing air at 20 °C with a relative humidity of 80 per cent injects 10 litres of water per hour into the compressed air line.

To avoid this, it is necessary to dry and filter the compressed air, especially in machines that produce air over long periods of time. This process will allow the production of better quality compressed air without any kind of residue, but above all it will prevent the formation of condensation inside the tank itself and the occurrence of steam damage.

The process of drying, or cooling, compressed air allows large quantities of water to condense and subsequently separate. The air after this process is reheated, thus preventing condensation inside the tank. In addition, this heat exchange between the incoming and outgoing air also reduces the cooling capacity required by the circuit.

Using a compressor without a dryer can cause various problems to the system or connected equipment, such as:

Corrosion of the equipment and piping system;
Damage to the pneumatic controls, with the possibility of safety shutdowns;
Need for continuous and excessive maintenance.
Possibility of icing up when working at low temperatures;
Quality problems due to discolouration with regard to paint adhesion;

Motor technical features

The compressor has a three-phase electric motor. The induction motor is characterised by its very long service life (it is almost eternal) and low maintenance requirements.

This motor is in fact brushless, the main component subject to wear in electric motors. It is precisely the absence of this component that gives the engine its proverbial durability. It is to be considered the top in reliability, quietness, durability, energy efficiency and maintenance.
