Electrode Inverter Welders (MMA)

Inverter Welders (MMA)

Inverter MMA electrode welders ensure unbeatable manoeuvrability due to their light weight and small size.
It is the ideal product for anyone who needs a practical machine that can be conveniently connected to the home network.
The inverter technology allows high safe of use, thanks to the stability of power consumption; the inverter not only makes the machine safer with home network, but also gives it an incredible lightness.
The catalogue includes both welders with MMA electrode operation only and others with an electrode and TIG system.

What does inverter welder mean?

The inverter welding machine is a convenient and practical development in the field of welding.

In fact, with the development of power semiconductors, it has been possible to realise static welding systems powered by alternating current and equipped with a transformer to convert the alternating current into direct current.
Using an inverter circuit brings several advantages but, above all, a greater ease of use of the welding machine.
The arc starting and its adjustments are much easier to control as they are electronically controlled, and furthermore, as there is no transformer, the welding machines are much more compact and easier to transport.

Inverter technology: its development

The need to weld new metal alloys and increase the quality of the different joints already developed during the Second World War.
This need led to the development of new, increasingly effective and efficient arc welding techniques.
The first developments in inverter technology date back to 1925. At that time, the devices were merely oscillators controlling a transistor, which generated a square wave by opening and closing the circuit.
The real qualitative leap, however, was not until 1983, when the first insulated gate bipolar transistors "IGBT" were introduced on the market. The special function of this system is that it can handle the conversion of high-power voltages and currents.
This technology, applied to welding machines, has therefore enabled a significant increase in performance and power, right up to the models we can find on the market today.
