MTD Optima 38 VO lawn scarifier and raker

The MTD Optima 38 VO lawn scarifier is the ideal choice for hobby use on small-sized lawns.

The machine is provided with a 38 cm working width thanks to the 16 fixed blades which ensure reliability and sturdiness.

The lawn scarifier is also equipped with rotor with springs.

Thus, MTD Optima 38 VO ensures excellent results on every type of terrain.

WARNING:

Aeration must be performed STRICTLY with the garden previously and abundantly watered.

* The right time for this operation is Spring, after the first mowing and depending on the area and climate (generally around March/April). For a perfect lawn care, it is highly recommended to repeat the operation in Autumn as well, thus removing the harder moss.

Dual rotor type

This lawn scarifier is equipped with 2 different types of rotor, easily interchangeable thanks to the quick release device, for different operating modes.

Both rotors are included in the packaging.

Rotor with springs: recommended for the “aeration process”.

With this rotor, the turf is combed lightly thanks to its steel spring design, which pinches and pulls away the felt and moss (also preventing regrowth).

It consists of a sturdy plastic roller fitted with 12 springs.

Rotor with blades
Recommended for the “scarifying process”.

This rotor type allows a more intensive lawn care thanks to the possibility to work the soil in depth. Indeed, the 16 sharpened blades penetrate vertically the lawn allowing the complete removal of moss, felt and weeds.
This feature ensures a lawn that is regenerated enhancing its oxygenation, drainage and uptake of nutrients.

* The right time for this operation is Spring, after the first mowing and depending on the area and climate (generally around March/April). For a perfect lawn care, it is advisable to repeat the operation in Autumn as well, thus removing the harder moss.

It is equipped with a steel roller with 16 highly-sturdy hardened steel blades.

The replacement of a rotor with another is easy by only unscrewing 2 screws.

Centralised working height adjustment

The centralised working depth adjustment makes this machine extremely easy to use and intuitive.

The quick blades lifting lever, placed in an easily accessible position on the handlebar, makes this machine handy and quick to adjust.

This device allows the Operator to protect the blade from damages and transporting the machine for storage in complete safety.

2 Operating modes

The machine is equipped with a large 45 L collection bag.

Possibility to work without rear collection bag, thanks to the proper deflector that crushes aeration debris on the ground.

Controls and handlebar

The controls are all placed on the handlebar.

Centralised blades lifting-lowering lever.

Throttle lever.

Blade engagement lever. By pulling the lever, the rotor with the blades starts rotating, while releasing it the blades stop.
