The Stiga TORNADO 398 lawn tractor will be the ideal solution for cutting tall, wild grass that has grown in low-maintenance soils. Thanks to the side discharge, all freshly cut grass is discharged to the side.

Equipped with an ST 450 petrol engine powered by STIGA, which delivers a power output of 7.5 kW. Maximum cutting area: 5000 s.q. m.

The 98 cm cutting deck makes it perfect for cutting over large areas for optimum performance at all times.

Height adjustable to 7 positions ranging from 25 to 80 mm.

Pedal-operated hydrostatic transmission, which makes work much easier and immediate. With this transmission, you can vary the speed simply by pressing the pedal.

The equipment consists of a STIGA Classic steering wheel and seat, a robust front bumper, storage compartments and cupholders, and convenient front lights, which will allow you to work even in low-light conditions.

1- SIDE DISCHARGE (standard equipment): the most traditional, the lawn tractor cuts, leaving the grass on the lawn. System recommended for: large expanses for those who do not need to harvest for those who do not mow frequently and need to cut overgrown grass for which the collection system or mulching is no longer effective.

2- MULCHING (optional):a cutting system that shreds the cut grass, leaving it on the lawn, pulverising it to such an extent that it looks as if it has been harvested. This eliminates the problem of its disposal (reducing any effort and shortening the time-saving). Moreover, grass clippings will break down into nutrients and water for the lawn (grass is 80% water) and will thus ensure a perfectly balanced biological cycle. However, it is worth remembering that, to ensure the greatest mulching results, the lawn should be irrigated, and the grass needs cutting at least once a week. Converting the machine from a cutting system to the other one is very easy.

Driving the tractor with this type of gearbox will be really easy. Everything can be controlled via the hydrostatic platform and with the sole use of the foot.

Operation: to move forward, simply push the pedal with your toe. The tractor will advance according to the pressure exerted. Simply push the other end of the pedal with your heel for moving in reverse.

As soon as the pedal is released, the machine stops and allows safe operation

This is an extremely convenient and extremely practical feature that will make it very easy to get around obstacles. This gearbox is definitely more modern and functional (although more expensive) than the traditional manual gearbox, because it allows you to vary the gear speed without stopping, unlike the manual gearbox, where you have to stop, change the gear and release the clutch to start again. This type of gearbox is therefore particularly suitable for terrain where it is necessary to change speed very often.

Cutting deck consisting of two blades with a cutting width of 98 cm. The rotation of the blades is asynchronous, for a clean and precise cut of the grass.

Tilting mower deck: easily adapts to undulating terrain (as long as it is not excessively rough).

The engagement of the blades is electromagnetic and is controlled via the button next to the steering wheel. This system avoids manual engagement, and works thanks to an electromagnetic clutch that allows easy and fast engagement of the blades.

The cutting height is adjusted by means of a simple lever. There are 7 cutting positions, ranging from a minimum of 25 to a maximum of 80 mm.

Two anti-skid wheels are also mounted on the cutting deck for smooth and precise ground following.
